Volkswagen Financial Services Electrifies Siemens Fleet
Braunschweig/Wolfsburg/Munich, January 4, 2024 – Volkswagen Financial Services, in collaboration with Volkswagen, is set to electrify Siemens AG's fleet by leasing up to 1,000 Volkswagen ID.4 vehicles. This move is a key component of Siemens' sustainability strategy, aiming for a fully electric and CO2-neutral fleet by 2030.
Armin Villinger, CEO of Volkswagen Leasing GmbH, stated, “Fleet electrification is crucial for the growth of e-mobility. More fleet managers are transitioning to electric vehicles, proving the practicality of e-mobility.” Achim Schaible, CEO of Volkswagen Germany, emphasized the importance of their long-standing partnership with Siemens in the era of e-mobility.
Siemens’ Head of Global Fleet Management, Stefan Kurz, highlighted the ID.4's balance of range, charging speed, cargo space, and price as key factors in their decision. The ID.4, Volkswagen's first fully electric compact SUV, is part of their modular electric drive matrix (MEB) and offers a range of up to 531 kilometers with fast-charging capabilities.
